Learning Design provides the autonomy learning envritonments long for. How people learn in the 21st century is heavily impacted by the digital age we now live in. For learners to become successful and fully equipped for this new digital age, online learning courses must become a part of the curriculum. Technology has opened a whole new world for us to explore intellectually, often times, independently, without the restraint of strict one-sided cirriculums. Learners are naturally taking responsibility for their own learning, as well as creating knowledge. The necessity for online learning in our schools is made obvious through the evolution of learning theories. For our learners to compete in a global society, the must be exposed to online learning and guided by expert teachers to be equipped for success as a knowledgeable citizen in this new digital age.
